What a wonderful journey this painting has been. It's reminded me everyday of the initial inspiration. It was our last trip to Algonquin Park in 2022!
We were able to take in some sights and enjoy Algonquin at one of it's finest. It was a short and furious visit, although it was intense with inspiration!
We arrived very early in the morning and were able to witness day break coming up over the hills. A little frost was even evident in the foreground and back where the light was coming in, the frost was being heated off by the sun's warmth. You could feel and see Algonquin coming alive for the day. The first birds of the morn began to sing, and river otters started to play! A very thin layer of ice was present for the first time along the edges of some waters.
It was a transitional time when the fall leaves had ended and it was the Tamaracks time to shine with the Pine Trees & Hemlocks, in this marshy just before winter.
I love watching all this take place and being one with nature, it helps when you are in one of your favourite places. To have these experiences, capture my own pictures, sketch a bit on site fulfills, the reason I believe I am here. To share all this with you to bring awareness to our natural treasures.
